BUSINESS IS OUR CULTURE. BUSINESS HAS, IN FACT, BECOME THE ONE WORLD-WIDE
CULTURE. IT SEEMS INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT THAT THE ARTIST BEGIN
TO ADDRESS THIS VAST NEW SUBJECT IN A WAY WAY THAT BOTH AESTHETICIZES
AND DEMYSTIFIES IT AT THE SAME TIME. UNTIL NOW, THE " ENGAGED ARTIST" HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN A DIALOGUE WITH MOSTLY POLITICAL AND SOCIAL ISSUES. IT IS TIME TO WIDEN THE THEATRE OF THAT ENGAGEMENT TO INCLUDE AN INSPECTION AND ANALYSIS OF THE ENVIROMNENT WE ACTUALLY INHABIT THE WORLD OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AND INFORMATIION. THE PAINTINGS THAT MAKE UP THE CURRENT EXHIBITION ARE FRAMED BY THE ICON OF COMMUNICATION, MONEY AND POWER; ICONS OF THIS TYPE USUALLY CONTAINING IMAGES OF NATIONAL OR INSTITUTIONAL CULTURE.
